Lefkada Island
Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007Levkas, sometimes called Levkada and known to the Venetians as Santa Mavra, lies just, but only just, off the coastline of Achar-nania. Homer in the Odyssey refers to it as a promontory of Epirus; at first sight it does appear to be a peninsula leaning out from the mainland, and such it was in early times. (more…)
